Sarah Beaty, owes her life to a fast thinking Texas police officer Philip Standefer.
The officer from Lubbock, Texas was reportedly investigating a small car accident and getting information from the witness(Beaty) when an alleged drunk driver crashed into a neighboring police car, sending the police car hurdling towards the officers and witness. Standefer explained “I knew that she didn’t see the car coming.”
Beaty explained her gratitude for the police officer and said “Thank you doesn’t really cover the fact that I’m here and talking,”
After Standefer pushed Beaty out of the way, he barely escaped the hurdling car and suffered minor injuries to his leg including severe bruising and pulled muscles. The police officer stated that he was just doing his job to serve and protect people, and that he was very glad he got an opportunity to do so.
The driver of the accident was arrested on the scene.
